David and Sue Johnson of Lansing will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today, July 30, with an open house hosted by their children and family. Family and friends are invited to attend at Wallula Christian Church from 1 pm to 3 pm and help in the celebration. Following the open house the couple will enjoy a private dinner for family also hosted by the children.
David Johnson and Sue Oliphant were married July 30, 1961 at the Lansing United Methodist Church. The couple have five children: David Johnson Jr. (Pam), Independence MO; Francesca (Roger) McHenry, St. Louis MO; Robert (Linda) Johnson, Lansing; Steven Johnson, Lansing and LTC Michael (Sara) Johnson Ft. Belvoir VA. In addition the couple have 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
David is a retired insurance agent and Sue retired as a budget analyst at Ft. Leavenworth.
David and Sue are grateful to have achieved this milestone and look forward to celebrating it with those they know and love.
