Rachel Sue Ryan  and Joseph Thomas Toth of Leavenworth exchanged their wedding vows on 10.10.10 at l:10 p.m.  at a lovely site at the Landing Part along the Missouri River.  The October day was beautiful  for its foliage and perfect autumn weather.  The new Mrs. Toth is the daughter of Dave and Sue Ryan, also of Leavenworth.  She is a 1996 graduate of Leavenworth High School and holds an Associate Degree in Business from Kansas City, Kansas, Community College.  She is employed by the State of Kansas as an Administrative Assistant.

Mr. Toth is the son of Joseph and Linda Toth of Success, Missouri.  He is a 1999 graduate of Bamberg American High School in Bamberg, Germany. He has also attended Drury University along with Missouri State University.  He is employed by the U.S Department of the Army at Fort Leavenworth.

The Reverend Ron Jones performed the ceremony with perfect timing to ensure that the vows were said between the sound of  trains rumbling along their route just below the landing.  The bride’s father drove her to the wedding in “Henry,” the family’s classic 1929 Model A Ford truck.   Rachel and Joe were pleased to include in the event two especially faithful four-legged friends, Karma the Fox Red Lab, companion of the groom, and Boomer the Victorian Bulldog, companion of the bride’s brother Robby Ryan.

The Maid of Honor was Kelly Battiston, lifelong friend of the bride.  Bridesmaids included Michelle Conley, cousin of the bride and Sarrah Toth, sister-in-law of the groom.   Best Man was Jonathan Toth, brother of the Groom.  Groomsmen were Ryan Rinkenbaugh and Robby Ryan, brother of the bride.   The Flowergirls were Destany Murray daughter of Robert and Alicia Murray and Kaydence Murray daughter of Terry and Jackie Murray. The Ring Bearers were Jacob Ryan and Justin Ryan, sons of Jeremy and Shannon Ryan.

The wedding was followed by a catered luncheon at Leavenworth’s Carousel Museum.   Guests enjoyed riding the vintage carousel and, courtesy of the groom’s parents, were presented with tiny blue spruce trees to commemorate the day.  The couple now make their home on Spring Garden Street in Leavenworth.
