Ephraim Rusala (Eph) Taylor Jr., our Loving father, husband, grandfather and brother, peacefully passed away on July 1, 2013.
Ephraim Rusala (Eph) Taylor Jr., our Loving father, husband, grandfather and brother, peacefully passed away on July 1, 2013. He was born in Wynne, Ark., December 13, 1932. He was the fourth of nine children to the union of Ephraim R. Taylor Sr. and Beatrice (Horton) Taylor. His parents, 4 brothers, Vernon Taylor, Simuel (Robert) Taylor, Leon Taylor, Frank (Jerry) Taylor, three sisters, Mabel Taylor, Mary Louise Collins, and Anne Marie Taylor and his oldest son, Matthew E.C.Taylor, all preceded him in death. Ephraim attended his elementary and high school all in the Leavenworth School system. In 1950, the 24 day of March he joined the United States Air Force. He served his country with honor, loyalty and integrity. He was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1955, he married Pauline (Carson) Taylor, to that union they were blessed with five children. In 1978, he married Marsha (Walker) Taylor and to that union two more children were born and continued to blessed him with a lovely family. Ephraim retired from Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. in 1989. He went on to work for AFEES at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., for a short period of time. He later worked for Cushing Memorial Hospital when he decided to become fully retired. He was an active member in the American Legion Post 94, and supported the mission with his active participation, retaining his membership until he had to focus on his health. Ephraim survivors include his wife, Marsha (Walker) Taylor Amarillo, Texas, two brothers, Ralph Taylor, Leavenworth, Kan., Larry (Glenna) Taylor of Grandview, Mo., four daughters, Dorothy (Stacy) Adams Jr., Kansas City, Kan., Victoria Whitley, Leavenworth, Kan., Roxanne (David) Brown, Lansing, Kan., and Michelle Taylor (Shelly) & (Raymond) Jones, Kaiserslautern, Germany, two sons, Kevin Taylor, Houston, Texas and Rusala (JR) Taylor, Leavenworth. A special acknowledgement to his friend and confidant, Mrs. Pauline Taylor, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. The service will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Monday, July 8, 2013. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m., service at 11 a.m. Following the service, burial will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Condolences may sent to www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com
