Two days after hearing gunfire, a rural Leavenworth man noticed two bullet holes at his residence, according to a report from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was reported Monday at 17055 Dempsey Road but the gunshots were heard Saturday. No injuries were reported.

Eric T. Simon, 40, was inside his home at about 1 p.m. Monday when he heard gunshots. He reportedly heard many rounds being fired. The gunfire lasted for about 30 minutes, according to the report. While outside of his home Monday, Simon noticed the two bullet holes.

One bullet apparently passed through his garage door, traveled across the garage and lodged into a wall near a door leading to the house, according to the report.

The second bullet lodged in stucco siding above the garage door.
