  • It was a Sunday morning in Kansas City, Mo., when a group of Lansing High School students took the stage that was previously occupied by a Grammy-winning group of musicians.
The stage was at the second annual Jiggle Jam Family Music Fest. The Grammy-winners were They Might Be Giants, and the Lansing High School students were Falcon Punch, a five-piece pop-rock band that has come a long way since forming about a year ago.
“Last summer I just randomly got the idea,” Katherine Borderud, the band’s guitarist said. “I said ‘We should be in a band,’ and called up my friends.”
