  • Philip Clark will perform a piano recital at 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Carnegie Arts Center, 601 S. Fifth St. in Leavenworth.
    This concert marks more than 20 years of performances provided by Clark for the center. For this performance, Clark will play Partita No. 2 in C minor by Bach, Nocturne in G minor and Impromptu in F-sharp major by Chopin, Arabesque by Schumann, and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt.
    Clark is a resident of Leavenworth and is currently employed at Combined Arms Research Library at Fort Leavenworth. He is also the organist at All Nations Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Leavenworth and pianist at Christ Unity Church in Leavenworth. Clark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Doane College in Nebraska and his master’s of music from DePauw University in Indiana. He continued his studies at Indiana University and the University of Southern Mississippi. While Clark was an assistant professor of music at Tougaloo College in Mississippi, he produced his opera titled “No Game for Kids.” Clark continues to compose keyboard, chamber and vocal music.
    This performance is free to the public, but donations are appreciated. Donations help support the Carnegie Arts Center’s scholarship fund.
