  • 16-year-old Leavenworth girl killed in crash



  • Kylee Nicole Wilson, 16, Leavenworth, was killed Thursday on U.S. 24 near Basehor, when her sport-utility vehicle spun out of control and overturned in a ditch, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Wilson was pronounced dead by the Wyandotte County coroner.

  • Kylee Nicole Wilson, 16, Leavenworth, was killed Thursday on U.S. 24 near Basehor, when her sport-utility vehicle spun out of control and overturned in a ditch, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Wilson was pronounced dead by the Wyandotte County coroner.
    Wilson’s passenger, Hayle L. Sparks, 14, also from Leavenworth, was injured in the crash and taken to KU Medical Center. The extent of her injuries are not known at this time.
    The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating whether the vehicle driven by Kylee hit a vehicle in front of hers which was driven by Jacob Lynch, 17, Tonganoxie. Lynch was not injured but he and his passenger, Samuel Cook, 15, Leavenworth, were taken to Providence Medical Center.
