Shelbee Lorain Heim, born to Andee Knierim on March 28, 2002, at the University of Kansas Hospital and adopted at birth by Gary and Peggy Heim. She was called home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 26, 2012, after an accident at her home.
She is survived by her parents, Gary and Peggy and sister, Alyson all of Leavenworth. She is also survived by her grandparents, John and Mary Lou Tullis, Carol Heim and Nancee Knierim; her god-parents, Brian and Julie Beying; and a large extended family.
Shelbee was preceded in death by her grandfathers, John E. Heim and David Knierim.
Shelbee was 10 years old and looking forward to beginning the 5th grade at Salt Creek Valley School. She loved riding her 4-wheeler, playing with her dog Molly, working on her 4-H projects, playing sports and swimming. Shelbee was always happy and loved life to the fullest. She brought a smile to the face of everyone she ever met. Shelbee will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Shelbee was an organ donor.
Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at St. Joseph Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements by R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph of the Valley Chruch or a memorial fund at Exchange Bank, Easton.
