Gaylord E. Schultz, 86, Leavenworth, Kan. passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012.
Gaylord was born September 21, 1925, in rural Arcadia, Wis. the son of Earl W. and Albina (Fonfara) Schultz.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served four overseas tours including Korea during the conflict. He retired in 1966 with twenty one years of service. He went to work at the Federal Prison and retired from there with 20 years of service. He then worked for the liquor store for eighteen years.
He was a member of St. Casimir Church, the National Federal Prison Retirees Association; Sunflower Chapter Local Federal Prison Retirees, Eagles, V.F.W. and the American Legion.
On March 13, 1948, he married Anneliese Schaubschlager in Salzberg, Austria. She preceded him in death in 1987. He is also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Schultz,  one brother, Ernest Schultz and one grandson, Garett Trexler.
He is survived by his wife Jeannine R. Schultz, one son Larry Schultz and wife Sindy, one grandson, Dylan Schultz, one granddaughter, Shawna Schultz, and one great grandson Wyatt Schultz all of Florida, eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-sons, Patrice Trexler and wife Nancy, Jerry Trexler and wife Sandy and Ronald Trexler and wife Kate, one step daughter Mary Brooks and one brother Lloyd Schultz and wife Helen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Davis Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, at St. Casimir Church, Leavenworth, Kan.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
