    Coach: Josh Padilla

    Coach’s record: first year

    Key returnees:

    Sydney Moon, junior setter

    Brittany Bosarge, junior defensive specialist

    Newcomers to watch:

    Micha Frasher, sophomore outside hitter

    Amber Cromeenes, sophomore middle hitter

    Laura Payne, junior defensive specialist

Team Outlook: STRENGTHS — Under a new regime, the Lady Pioneers have focused on strengthening their physical conditioning and mental toughness for the upcoming season.

WEAKNESSES —  With juniors and sophomores dotting its lineup, Leavenworth will lack varsity experience within its ranks. Thus, depth will be a test throughout the year.

Coach says: “I believe we are going to surprise a lot of teams in our conference. This is definitely not the same Pioneers the Sunflower League saw last season. Ball control and control of game tempo have been a large part of our focus for the offseason. In addition, the girls have worked very hard in improving their physical attributes and volleyball IQ; all of which translates into increased levels of performance on the volleyball court.”
