    Team Outlook: STRENGTHS — Overall depth will be a big advantage for the Pioneers this fall. After having to mix-match lineups last season due to injuries, the squad is deeper with a lot of returning players, which will also help with the squad’s familiarity.

    WEAKNESSES —  Still learning the in-and-outs as well as the individual roles of second-year coach Ken Lott’s system remains atop the list of areas that need improvement.

    Big games: At Lansing, Sept. 6; At Lawrence Free State, Sept. 27; At Lawrence, Oct. 2; At Tonganoxie, Oct. 18;

    Coach says: “The Leavenworth High School soccer program has gone through enough unsuccessful seasons; and the time has come to show that we are, and always will be, a team that plays to the end. We expect to surprise those whom under estimate us.

    "Leavenworth players are not afraid to lose as long as we play our best game, but we are determined and willing to work hard at getting better every day. Leavenworth has many players that want to be successful and are hungry for a winning season, and I believe this team, this year, is the start to a new legacy in Leavenworth High School soccer.

    "I hope that the community will come out and attend the games to cheer us on, and be a part of the new, exciting and determined future of Leavenworth High School soccer.”
