The Lansing volleyball team rode away from Lawrence Thursday night with mixed results.
After first falling to Free State 25-22, 25-22, the Lady Lions bounced back against Topeka Seaman for a 21-25, 25-22, 25-22 victory. The win capped off a night where the team played well according to coach Rhonda Lang.
“We played great in both games and just happen to lose two tough sets in that first match,” Lang said. “But they still battled and I really feel like it was a good performance by the girls.”
Against Free State, Amanda Dalbey stood out with four kills for Lansing while Lang highlighted the blocking prowess of Charlotte Moe and Kelsie Pitsenbarger versus Seaman.
Lansing, 2-2, will host Mill Valley and Blue Valley Thursday at 5 p.m.
