Two Lady Raiders led the Immaculata charge Thursday for the girls’ tennis team.
Competing in the Sabetha Quad, Olivia Wilson and Sydney Simek each went 2-1 in their singles matches. In the No. 1 singles divison, Wilson won 7-1, 7-0 before losing 7-6 (7-4), while in the No. 2 singles Simek won 7-6 (7-5), 7-0 before losing 7-3.
During doubles, Imac’s Liz Lee and Abby Meirose finished 0-3, as did the pairing of Georgia Lynn Dean and Devin Paul. Lee and Meirose lost 7-1, 7-3, 7-0 while Dean and Paul fell 7-0, 7-5, 7-1.
“We continue to make some of the same mistakes, but we are also showing marked improvement as we enter the tougher matches of our schedule,” Raiders coach Manuel Hernandez said. “The girls are raising their games to meet the level of competition at the varsity level and I certainly am pleased at our progress.”
Immaculata will host its next invite Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
