    Rita Kaiser went home to be with the Lord September 18, 2012 surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
    She was born January 1, 1926, at Providence Hospital Kansas City, Kan. to Ray and Myrtle Pretz. She graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1943 and from The Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She served as a nurse at the VA Hospitals in Cheyenne, Wyo. and Leavenworth, Kan. She was also a school nurse for the Easton, KS School District. She retired in 1999.
    On April 14, 1951 she married Bernard Kaiser at The Church of The Visitation, KCMO. Together they gave life, love, and faith to 10 children.
    She was preceded in death by Bernard on July 16, 1982; her brother Francis Leo, her sister Mary Evelyn, and two grandsons John Paul Kaiser and Thomas Francis Kaiser, Jr.
    She is survived by her brothers Dr. James Pretz, M.D., Kansas City, Kan., John (Rosemarie) Pretz, Mexico, Mo., and a sister-in-law Katherine Kaiser, Kansas City, Kan.; her children Monica (Bob) Tate, Leavenworth, Kan., Thomas (Patty) Kaiser, Casper, Wyo., John (Debbie) Kaiser, Cheyenne, Wyo., Martha Killion, Pierce, Colo., Cathy Kaiser, St. Louis, Mo., James (Susan) Kaiser, Longmont, Colo., Dr. Maryrita (Robert, PhD) Mallet M.D., PhD, Aledo, Tx., Dr. Christopher (Angela) Kaiser, PhD, Avon, Ind., Bernard (Andrea) Kaiser Marshfield, Wis., and Jeannine (Rick) Edmonds, Leavenworth, Kan. Rita is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
    The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church, 5th and Kiowa St, Leavenworth, Kan. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Church.
    Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, 38th and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kan.
    Memorial contributions may be given to the Leavenworth Catholic Schools.
    Arrangements are entrusted to the Davis Funeral Chapel.
