As days get darker and the weather turns chillier, the winter sports season creeps ever so closer.
In preparation of that, the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting registration for its youth winter basketball program beginning Monday.
Registration for grades first through sixth will last up until Oct. 31. Registration for seventh and eighth graders will be held at a later date.
To sign-up, visit the Parks and Recreation office located in the Lansing Activity Center, 108 S. 2nd Street, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Participation fees are $40 per registrant and are due at the time of registration. Registrations may not be taken after Oct. 31. If late registration is accepted, a late fee will be charged.
A scholarship program is available for qualifying individuals. For more information, contact the office at 913-727-2960. The deadline for scholarship applications is Oct. 17.
