Utilizing its deep roster, the Pleasant Ridge girls’ cross country team saw several of its upcoming stars take flight Thursday.
Resting a few of its normal varsity runners, the Lady Rams still managed to take second overall at a competition in Horton.
“Some of our runners stepped up tonight and filled some gaps on varsity so I was proud of them all,” PR coach Chad Hendrix said.
Rachel Hattok had the best Ridge finish with a sixth place offering. Behind her was Hailey Worthington earning seventh, Taylor Satre coming in 14th and Carly Simonis getting 24th.
Sarah Lang and Peyton Gould came in 26th and 27th respectively.
“It was a great run,” Hendrix said. “I thought Carly, Sarah and Taylor had a huge night for us stepping in for those that were out.”
On the boys’ side, Tony Weber came in fifth overall.
Pleasant Ridge will host its own invite Thursday starting at 4 p.m.
