Authorities are investigating an incident in which a man reportedly was hit in the head with a beer bottle Friday night at a Leavenworth restaurant, a police spokesman said.
The victim, a 21-year-old man, went to the hospital to receive stitches for a laceration on his forehead, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The incident is reported to have occurred Friday night at TenPenny Restaurant & Bar, 1701 10th Ave. It is being investigated as an aggravated battery.
The victim was said to have been sitting at the restaurant’s bar when he heard someone yelling.
“When he turned around, a male suspect struck him in the head with a beer bottle,” Nicodemus said.
The victim indicated he didn’t know the suspect and the attack had been unprovoked, according to the deputy chief.
“We have some information but we have not identified the (suspect) yet,” Nicodemus said.
