With one last tune-up before its Sunflower League tournament, the Leavenworth girls’ golf team headed to Shawnee Mission Northwest Tuesday.
At the scramble competition, Lizzy Cline and Laura Phillips combined to shoot a 36 for the Lady Pioneers.
“They are really improving,” LV coach Bob Hart said. “I’m amazed at their putting. Laura has been really impressive and Lizzy continues to improve as well.”
Leavenworth’s league tournament is today at St. Andrews Golf Course in Overland Park. Cline is the only Lady Pioneer expected to compete.
“I just want her to go out and relax and have some fun out there,” Hart said. “Just have her hit the ball and see where she comes out in the end.”
