  • Brian Kinsella, left, talks with Maj. Armando Velasquez Tuesday near Fort Leavenworth. Kinsella, the chief executive officer of Stop Soldier Suicide, had just visited the fort as part of the Soldiers Ride for Life motorcycle tour. Kinsella is making the two-week cross country tour to raise awareness and create new partnerships in an effort to stop soldier and veteran suicides.
During the tour, which began last week, Kinsella is visiting military installations. Fort Leavenworth was his fourth stop on the tour. Velasquez is a student at the Army Command and General Staff College at the fort. The two men served together while Kinsella was in the Army.
Kinsella said others are joining him for legs of the tour, which will total more than 5,000 miles. More information can be found at www.stopsoldiersuicide.org.
