    Marcus L. Sickel, 98, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Menorah Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6900 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Temple Beth Sholom, 4200 SW Munson Avenue, Topeka, Kan. 66604.

    Marcus L. Sickel, 98, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Menorah Medical Center.     Mr. Sickel was a shipping/receiving manager for a wholesale leather goods and costume jewelry company for many years before his retirement.
    He was a former member The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah, Temple Beth El in Kansas City and B'nai B'rith in Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Sickel was a former president of the Leavenworth Lions Club and a former State Governor of the Kansas Lions Club. He was a volunteer for the USO, Federal Penitentiary in Leavenworth and Menorah Medical Center.
    Mr. Sickel was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Sickel; his wife of 56 years, Natalie June Sickel, in 2006 and a sister, Julia Hibshman, in 1976.
    He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Warren and Diane Sickel, Olathe, Kan.; grandsons: Jason Sickel and his wife Heather, Shawnee, Kan.; Aaron Sickel, Athens, Oh.; great-granddaughter: Lillian June Sickel and a sister-in-law: Marcia Friedman, Kansas City, Mo.
