  • With just over a month until election day, an election official is reminding Leavenworth County voters of some important dates in the next few weeks.

      - Applications for advance voting can be found on the Leavenworth County web site at www.leavenworthcounty.org, and then by clicking on 2012 November Advance Application under the county clerk tab and then 'documents.' Download the application, complete, sign and date and mail to the County Election Office.

      - Voters in the county who vote advance ballots are subject to the voter identification requirements the same as other voters. Those who vote by mail may write their Kansas Drivers License number on the application or send a photocopy of valid identification with the ballot application.

      - Voters can check if they're registered and where their polling place is by visiting www.voteks.org and clicking on the “Kansas VoterView” link and entering their name and birth date. Those without internet access can call 1-800-262-8683.
