A foundation that supports a local hospital will be holding a “Think Pink” event tonight to raise money for women’s health care in Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties, according to a foundation spokeswoman.
The event, organized by the Providence Saint John Foundation, will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Painted Hills Golf Club in Kansas City, Kan.
The foundation supports Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth and Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Allison McLain, development associate for the foundation, said the event will include a silent auction as well as artists and vendors selling hand-crafted jewelry and other gift items they’ve made.
“It’s a lot of fun,” McLain said of the event.
She said organizations also have painted and decorated chairs that will be auctioned during the event. She said this is the highlight of the evening.
“They’re very unique,” McLain said of the chairs.
“Think Pink” is an annual event for the foundation.
“It’s been going on for a long time,” McLain said.
Tickets for tonight’s event are $40. McLain said a few tickets are still available but people need to call ahead of time. The foundation can be reached at 913-596-4151.
