Rene Olmos- Miranda, 60 of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away October 25th, 2012 at a Kansas City Hospital.
Funeral Services will be (today) Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with Father George Bertles officiating.
Visitation was Monday, October 29th, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and the family present from 6:00 Until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Rene was born October 9th, 1952 in Santiago, Chile the son of Ernest O. Olmos and Florinda Miranda in Santiago.
He met the love of his life Amira Valenzuela-Olmos and were married December 7th, 1972.
During his life in Chile he studied marketing. He loved his music, and participated in the Grupo Chalinga which then was able to travel with them to Northern Chile.
He worked in the social security office in Santiago, Chile. In 1980 he arrived in Leavenworth, Kansas to start a better life and to be around family and friends. He worked at Great Western Manufacturing from 1980 until 1995. Due to his illness he retired in 1995.
In his spare time he enjoyed going to casinos, fishing, BBQ's, spending time with his wife and daughters and grandkids.
He loved music, dancing, and joking around. His friends loved his many personalities.
He is survived by his wife, Amira Olmos, two daughters; Andrea Humphrey and her husband Ron, Jr., and Claudia Butter and her husband Casey, four grandchildren; Catrice and Camilo Humphrey and Mia and Isaac Butlers, two sisters, and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers; Ernesto and Hernan Olmos.
Memorials in his name may be directed to the family.
