Maureen A. Fox, 69, of Leavenworth, passed away, Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 18, 1943, in Holton, Kan., the daughter of Rollie R. and Vera M. (Marshall) Hudson.
On April 28, 1962, she married, Gary A. Fox at St Ignatius Catholic Church on Fort Leavenworth. He survives at the home. She is also survived by two sons, Scott (Virginia) Fox of Leavenworth and Stephen Fox of Leavenworth; grandchildren, Zachary, Chelsea, Jessica and Chase; and three brothers, Ray Hudson, Jerry Hudson and Lowell Hudson.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sheila Beaman and Aggie Scharer.
Maureen and her siblings owned and operated Carousel Floral and Gifts in downtown Leavenworth for several years. She was born to be a caregiver and took pride in caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all those who knew her. She also enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Buttons and Jiggs. She was known by many for her open heart and listening ear. She made all feel loved and welcomed around her.
Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
