To the editor:
Politics is over, for all practical purposes, so let's talk about reality. Why have we gotten hit so badly and often, Joplin last year's tornado, Katrina, and Sandy now? Hundred-year events are now two-year events. I know climate change is denied by those ignorant of the science and swayed by the millions spent on misinformation lobbying and ads. I have years of Scientific American articles that address this science.
I like my electricity and car, but not blind stupidity. We can fix this if we want to. When money replaces mentality, we deserve what we get. When the world hits the point-of-no-return, admitting you were wrong will be no consolation.
At present rate by 2100 the world will warm an estimated 9 degrees, climate balance on the brink. It won't matter to us, we'll be gone but our posterity will endure our gift of irresponsible cost aversion today for their tomorrow. Markets and insurance companies will go bankrupt, food and disease will prevail-doubt it? Open your eyes! Movies will become reality. We will endure the slow strangling death that the Neanderthals went through, but when you act like a Neanderthal what do you expect?
