It wasn’t the way the University of Saint Mary volleyball team wanted to finish its regular season.
However, following a 25-16, 25-12, 25-10 home loss to Tabor, the Lady Spires found out that it’s 2012 had at least one more match left.
After the defeat on Friday, which dropped USM to 10-23 overall, 5-13 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, it was announced over the weekend that the Lady Spires had earned the final seed in the conference’s postseason tournament.
“It’s important that each person takes care of their job and that we play with heart,” USM coach Sarah Johnson said.
The playoff, which begins tonight at 7 p.m., will match-up the No. 8 Lady Spires versus No. 1 seeded Ottawa University. The Lady Braves are 27-5 overall and 18-0 in the KCAC.
