  • While not all of the results were in late Tuesday night, it appeared Connie O’Brien had been elected to a third term in the 42nd District of the Kansas House of Representatives.
    The 42nd District includes western Leavenworth County.
    With 11 of 13 precincts reporting, O’Brien, a Republican, was leading her Democratic challenger, Harold D. Fevurly Jr., 5,818 votes, or 64 percent, to 3,343 votes, or 37 percent, according to the unofficial results released by the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office.
    “I look forward to the next two years in the Legislature,” O’Brien said Tuesday.
    O’Brien said she looks forward to taking Kansas in the right direction.
