Patricia "Patti" Shaffer Grant, 61 of Leavenworth, Kansas was led into Heaven on November 4th, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, November 9th, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Bertels officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 8th, 2012 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. She will be laid to rest beside her granddaughter at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Lansing, Kansas. Following the mass, a reception will be held at the Lansing 4-H Building Patti was born in Leavenworth, KS on November 6th, 1950 to Thomas E. and Martha "Jane" Bransfield Shaffer. She lived in different throughout her childhood due to her father being in the Marine Corps…Semper Fi. She graduated from Havelock High School in Havelock, North Carolina in 1968. It was during her time there that she met and fell in love with the man she would eventually be married to for 43 years, separated only by death, William "Buddy" Grant. They married June 14th, 1969 in South Carolina. While living in North Carolina, she gave birth to her two beautiful and amazing daughters, Jennifer Grant and Katie Grant Schneider. She and her family eventually moved back to Leavenworth, KS where she worked for Research Psychiatric Center and Quest Diagnostics, where she made many friends that were very dear to her heart. She also volunteered as a CCD teacher for the Catholic Church. Waiting for her at the gates were Mama and Daddy, her granddaughter, Hannah JoLee; her sister-in law, Becky Shaffer and her brother-in-law, Gene Tomrell. Left behind to miss her face are her husband, Buddy; her daughters, Jennifer (Stephen) and Katie (Justin) and their children, Ashley Brooke, Casangela Belle, William Grant, Geordynn Rae, Kyndal Cecilia, Jenalee Paige, Kathryn Elizabeth and Stephen
Paul; her brothers and sisters, Tom Shaffer (Wendy), Peggy Tomrell, Steven Shaffer (Lori), Roger Shaffer, Tim Shaffer, Sam Shaffer (Debra) and Anne Johnson (Scott);and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary family members. Contributions should be made to the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Belden-Larkin Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
