Barbara May Williams, 83, passed away Friday November 2, 2012 at Garden Terrace in Overland Park, KS.
Mrs. Williams was born December 3, 1928 in Leavenworth, KS. The daughter of Ferrel Ersle Schock and Arabelle Kathleen Flynn Schock, she was a lifetime resident of Leavenworth.
Mrs. Williams had a talent for cooking. She worked with her mother at the Leavenworth Country Club. She also served as a cook for the Leavenworth School District and the Leavenworth County Jail. Barbara learned to play the drums and did so for many years alongside her husband in the band The Memory Makers. Barbara was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and best friend.
She married John Conrad. They divorced.
She later married Howard Rex Williams on February 18, 1965. They were very happily married for 36 years.
Survivors include one son, David Lee Conrad of Leavenworth, three daughters, Letty Elaine Conrad Haynes, Rebecca Lynn Conrad Ingerson both of Leavenworth, Amy Kathleen Williams Hancock of Tonganoxie, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rex Williams, December 2001, two brothers, Robert Campbell and Jack Schock and one sister, Mary Tallman.
At the request of Mrs. Williams she will be cremated.
It was Mrs. Williams wishes that there be no funeral services. The family will have a private graveside service for Mrs. Williams and her husband at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter.
