  • A Leavenworth man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly striking one person with the butt of shotgun and punching another victim with his fist, a police spokesman said.
The incident was reported at 2:56 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Limit Street, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
Nicodemus said the suspect, a 41-year-old man, had been at another location when he got into an argument with his 37-year-old wife. The suspect left, and a 40-year-old man gave the suspect’s wife a ride home.
Outside of the suspect’s house, the suspect allegedly struck the 40-year-old man on the chin with the butt of a shotgun. The victim suffered a laceration on his chin.
Nicodemus said the suspect had retrieved the shotgun from his vehicle.
The suspect also allegedly punched his wife in the face, leaving her unconscious. She later was treated at a hospital.
“Her injuries were not life-threatening,” Nicodemus said.
The suspect was arrested for aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
