  • Curtis Eugene Taylor, 84 passed away on November 15, 2012. He was born July 4, 1928 in Bonner Springs, KS. the son of the late Walter and Lucille Holmes, whom both preceded him in death. To this union 4 other children were born, three older brothers, Lonnie Holmes, Walter Holmes, and Gilbert Andrews, all whom preceded him in death, his youngest and only surviving brother Ernest Lee Andrews, of Leavenworth ,KS and his one and only sister Delores Barnett (Odis) of Overland Park, KS.
    He married Alza Mae Bradley in 1948, and from the union 3 loving children was born, Shirley and Yvonne Taylor both of San Diego, Calif., and a son Kenneth E. Taylor who preceded him in death.
    In 1960 he met Doris Eleanore Jackson in San Diego, California and inherited the everlasting love of her four beautiful children Michael D Jackson, deceased. Glenda Holmes (Ruffian), Almetrice Smith (Clarence) and Darlene Payne (James), they were later married and from this blessed union came Angela Luster (Eddie), Eugenia Taylor- Munlin (Loys), Tonya Taylor (Calvin).
    Curtis was a hard and dedicated worker, he served as an honorable soldier in the United States Navy, and as an Industrial Engineer for the City of San Diego, upon his arrival back to Leavenworth he worked at the Bay State Mill Company and continued to work hard and diligently for Pin Oak Acres and eventually retired after 20 plus years.
    Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9am to 1pm. The Repass will be held at Independent Baptist Church, 601 Pottawatomie St., Leavenworth, KS. 66048. Burial with military graveside services will be 9:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2012 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
