Leavenworth authorities arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly tried to sell stolen televisions out of his car. The televisions were reported missing from a home that had been burglarized earlier that morning, a police spokesman said.
The burglary was reported at 5:44 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Cheyenne Street.
While officers were on that call, police received a report that someone was trying to sell televisions from his car in the 700 block of Metropolitan Avenue, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
“So the officers went up there,” Nicodemus said.
He said police confirmed serial numbers on televisions at the scene on Metropolitan Avenue matched those of TVs that had been reported stolen by the burglary victim.
The 47-year-old suspect was arrested for allegations of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property, according to a police report.
