Team Outlook: STRENGTHS — Experience and an increase in numbers are two key assets the Pioneers have going for them heading into the new season.
Several upperclassmen like Josh Camerena and Clayton Gubler will have an impact on one of the larger groups of newcomers Leavenworth had had in recent years.
WEAKNESSES — Though Leavenworth holds a plethora of juniors and seniors, seasoned depth for the team is lacking.
The infusion of youth is encouraging, but will take time to develop.
Big meets: Shawnee Mission West meet on Nov. 29; Home meet on Jan. 15; Home meet on Jan. 22
Coach says: “Numbers have increased and we have a good, busy schedule. We have a lot of unknowns with the newcomers, though, so I don’t know exactly where we are at yet. We are just going to have to work and see where we end up. So far, the kids are working hard.”
