With the start of the 18th Annual Citizens National Bank Invitational Basketball Tournament just a week away, the tourney’s first-round matchups were released Tuesday.
Beginning on Thursday, the Leavenworth boys’ basketball team will cap off the first day of competition when it faces Wyandotte at 8:30 p.m.
Before that Hogan Prep will take on North Kansas City at 3:15 p.m., Washington will play Wichita’s Word of Life at 5 p.m. and Topeka will face Raytown South at 6:45 p.m.
If the Pioneers are victorious, they will face the winner of Topeka/Raytown South Friday at 8:30 p.m. If LHS loses its opening game, it will face the loser of the before-mentioned contest.
The championship and consolation games will be played on Saturday. All the tournament contests will be held at Leavenworth High School.
