Joseph T. “Joe” Cune, Jr of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away December 6th, 2012 at Hickory Pointe Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with Paul Stevens, TH. D. of First Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, December 10th, 2012 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Private Cemetery services at Sunset Memory Gardens will be at a later date.
Joe was born January 6th, 1958 in Leavenworth, Kansas the son of Joseph T. (Toby) and Dolores (Spinner) Cune.
Joe enjoyed life to the best of his ability. During the 1960's and 1970's he was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, he also worked at Riverside Resources for several years. Joe especially enjoyed working at Great Western and was thrilled when they gave him a jacket with their logo on it.
Joe was a sportsman with Special Olympics of Leavenworth where he enjoyed track and field events. He enjoyed bowling every Thursday with his friends at S.N.A.P, playing bingo, cards, and fishing. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church Choir, the bell choir, and S.A.F.E.
Joe was number nine of ten children.
He is survived by four sisters; Pam Vineyard and her husband Ed, Toby (T.J.) Bradford and her husband Bruce, Peggy Leftwich and her friend Bob Simpson all of Leavenworth, and Dolores Raymos of Wichita. Five Brothers; Bob (B.R.) Raymos and his friend Frankie Jackson, of Leavenworth, Ray Raymos of Wichita, Kansas, Tim Cune of Leavenworth, and John Raymos and his wife Jean of Virginia and fifty nieces and nephews.
Memorials in his name may be directed to Hickory Pointe Nursing Home, Grace Hospice of Lawrence, Kansas or Special Olympics of Leavenworth.
