Carol A. Nenninger, 66, a resident of Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born January 18, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo., to Melvin and Ann (Brown) Frentzel. She graduated from Lutheran High South in St. Louis, received her BA in Secondary Education from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and her Master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Carol spent the majority of her working years as a teacher and later spent several years as an assistant hotel manager at the Ft. Leavenworth Hotel.
She was a member of St. Therese Parish in Kansas City, Mo. Carol was a very devoted to her God and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She married Alan H. Nenninger on July 15, 1971 in Columbia, Mo. He survives of the couple's home in Leavenworth. Additional survivors include two sons, Brett A. Nenninger and wife Valerie of Seattle, WA and Chris L. Nenninger of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Danny Frentzel of Syracuse, NY; a sister, Nancy O'Shannessey of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren, Madalynn and Reilly. Her mother preceded her in death.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW 9 Highway, Kansas City, MO 64152, with Rev. Joe Cisetti as celebrant. Following the mass, the body will be transported to the Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home in St. Louis where a family visitation and burial will be held.
