Viola Oliver, 84, Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Wednesday, 12 December 2012 at Medicalodge, Leavenworth, Kansas. She was born 9 May 1928 in Osage, Iowa the daughter of Peter and Gladys Apling. She married her sweetheart, Reinsford Oliver in 1946.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Caudle (Dennis) and grandson Michael Caudle with great-granddaughter Michele Caudle all of Leavenworth, Kansas; son, David Oliver (Marcella) and granddaughter, Stephanie Pratt (Joe) with great-granddaughters Miranda and Mariah Pratt; granddaughter Susan Walsh all of Independence, Missouri; brother, Allen Apling of Libby, Montana; sisters Delores Ketola of Nashwauk, Minnesota and Bernice Kilpela of Duluth, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinsford in December 2011; parents, Peter and Gladys Apling of Duluth, Minnesota; brothers Roy, of Libby, Montana; Harold (Hazel), of Faribault, Minnesota; and sisters Mildred, of Libby, Montana; Lois (Melvin), of Englewood, California; and grandson, John Walsh of Independence, Missouri.
She was an Army wife for twenty-four years. In her later years she worked as a cook at St Johns Hospital, Leavenworth, Kansas.
At the request of the deceased and her family, private services will be held at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
