Though the winter season is a mere few days away, the University of Saint Mary baseball program is already looking towards spring.
On Dec. 27-29, the Spires will hold the USM Baseball Holiday Hitting Clinic. The three-day camp is designed for kindergartners through eighth graders (9-10:20 a.m.) and high schoolers (10:30 a.m. to noon).
The cost of the camp is $45 and will be held at the McGilley Field House located on the Saint Mary campus.
Instruction will include three group-hitting sessions that will focus on the fundamentals of hitting. This will entail teaching swing principles, philosophy, mental preparation, strength training, proper drill techniques and video analysis to improve the camper’s hitting approach.
Participants are asked to bring turf or tennis shoes as well as a bat.
