  • A woman was taken to the hospital after her boyfriend allegedly drove away from their residence while she was holding onto the vehicle, a police spokesman said.
Police found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the residence.
The incident was reported at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Kingman Street.
The 38-year-old suspect and 39-year-old victim reportedly had an argument. As the man began to drive away, the woman was holding onto the vehicle and yelling, according to police Lt. Sean Goecke.
“When she let go, she fell to the ground,” Goecke said.
While police were talking to the woman, they noticed a green leafy substance and a glass pipe in the residence. The victim claimed the items belonged to her boyfriend, Goecke said.
No arrest was made. The suspect had left the scene before police arrived.
Goecke said the victim was treated by Leavenworth County EMS personnel and transported to Saint John Hospital. The lieutenant believed her injuries were minor.
“I think it was more precautionary,” he said of the woman being taken to the hospital.
