Patrick Ernest Garrett, Sr., 77 of Leavenworth, went to be with his Savior on Dec. 26, 2012, after an extended illness.
Patrick Ernest Garrett, Sr., 77 of Leavenworth, went to be with his Savior on Dec. 26, 2012, after an extended illness. He was born to James and Augusta Garrett on Aug. 23, 1935, in Leavenworth.
On July 10, 1956, he married Rose Corriston, who survives him.
He worked for Mount Muncie Cemetery for several years and retired from there in the early 1990's. Patrick was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leavenworth. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children; Achsah Dicks (Mike), Patrick Garrett, Jr. (Susan), Escie Kallmbah (James), James Garrett (Gail) and John Garrett (Janie); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Nathan Garrett (Denise); and three sisters; Mary Caswell, Debbie Briscoe and Dixie Orr (Bob).
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
