William C. Hartley Jr., age 86 passed peacefully at his home December 30, 2012 with his wife Loleta at his side.
William was born March 13, 1926 to William C. Hartley Sr. and Alma Rinz Hartley in Leavenworth Kansas. He attended local schools. He entered the US Army in July 1948 and received Honorable Discharge in 1952. William and Loleta Schultz were married on June 24, 1950 in Leavenworth. They are parents of 2 sons Ken (Carla) & GW (Jeanne) they have 2 grandchildren Chris Hartley (Lisa) and Sarah Hartley, 2 Great-grandsons CJ and Dillon Hartley. Also, 2 step grandchildren Angie Roper and Jay Thede and 7 step great grandchildren.
William C. was employed at Goodjohn Sash & Door Co., the VA Center and Department of the Army, Ft Leavenworth. He retired in 1976.
He was a nature lover and enjoyed camping and car travel with family, and then as a couple to many beautiful spots in our country. He and Loleta also celebrated a couple of milestones in Hawaii.
William was preceded in death by his parents & 2 brothers James R. Hartley & Benny Hartley. He is survived by one brother, Richard Hartley, his wife of 62 years and many nieces & nephews & friends.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Davis Funeral Chapel follow by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers suggested American Heart Association, or First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth, KS.
