With the celebration of the new year upon us, let me encourage you to celebrate frugality in 2013. It does not have to be hard and there are several simple tips you can follow to help save funds every single day.
Since I love living the frugal lifestyle, I find that it is a topic that comes up with my friends quite often. My friends have offered there own advice to help save money this upcoming year.
One way you can save money is by making your own cleaning products. While I find I can find coupons for cleaning products all the time, it is sometimes more cost effective to make your own cleaning products. I have actually been doing this for years. I find that vinegar and water mixture makes a great cleaning solution and cleans most areas of your home. I find that it is a great way to clean your floors. There are several websites on the internet that tell you some great uses for the vinegar cleaning solution. I have not really found a cleaning product on the market that cleans better than vinegar.
Baking soda and lemon juice are also a good source of cleaning solutions. Baking soda is a great way to clean the bathroom. You can use it to scrub your toilet to your tub.
Several of my friends save money by making their own laundry detergent. One friend has told me that it takes her approximately 15 minutes to make her own laundry detergent and it works just as well as the major brands. Directions on how to make your own laundry detergent can also be found on the internet. Laundry detergents are another item I typically find a lot of coupons for. I know for our family I refuse to pay more than $2.50 a container of detergent. When I find detergents on sale, I usually stock up.
