  • A Leavenworth woman was taken to the hospital Friday morning after her vehicle went off the road and crashed into large rocks, a police spokesman said.
The accident was reported 6:04 a.m. Friday.
The 38-year-old woman was driving north on Wilson Avenue in a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck went off the road at the curve where Wilson Avenue meets Marion Street. The truck went into a yard and struck large, decorative rocks, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
“She struck three of those,” Nicodemus said.
The woman, who had been wearing a seat belt, was suffering head and neck pain after the accident. She was transported to Saint John Hospital.
Nicodemus said police believe the woman had been driving too fast for conditions.
