Leavenworth authorities recently arrested a man for allegedly battering his grandfather, a police spokesman said.
The incident was reported around 5:45 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Linn Street.
A 31-year-old man reportedly became angry because his 75-year-old grandfather wouldn't give him money. The two men live together.
The suspect allegedly choked his grandfather and placed a knife to the older man's throat, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
"The grandson also kicked a hole in the wall," Nicodemus said.
The suspect allegedly resisted arrest after police arrived at the scene, but he was taken into custody.
He was arrested for allegations of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, interference with a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property.
