Donald W. Mayhugh, 60, of Leavenworth, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. He was born Sept. 12, 1952, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Wesley and Mable Mayhugh.
He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1971, and then attended Vo-Tech. school. He worked for Missouri Valley Steel, Southwest Steel and most currently, Harley Davidson.
He married Tana Schlonga-Doelz on Feb. 14, 1991, in Las Vegas. She survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Kyle (Jill) Doelz; a daughter, Melissa McKinney; two grandchildren, Nathan Doelz and Hailey Doelz; his father, Wesley Mayhugh; two brothers, Jeff (Teresa) Mayhugh and Bruce Mayhugh; a sister, Donna Mayhugh; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Mayhugh.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald enjoyed motorcycles and taking motorcycle trips with his friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Alliance Against Family Violence.
