Leading by 13 points going into the half, the St. John-Hudson Tigers defeated the Central Plains Oilers 55-40 in the second round of St. John's Lions Club Mid-Winter Classic this Friday.

With their 12th straight win, the Tigers will move on to the championship round starting at 8:15pm. Saturday. The Macksville Mustangs also won their second round game playing the Pratt Greenbacks 58-53 and will be St. John's opponent, guaranteeing the Mid-Winter Championship Trophy stays in Stafford County.

Central Plains will be matched-up against Pratt in the third place game starting at 6:30pm. Saturday.

In consolation play, Ness City's 15 point first quarter lead was more than enough for the Eagles to move on to Saturday's 5th place bracket after defeating Larned 70-46. Ness will play Nickerson at 4:45pm. The Panthers earlier defeated Medicine Lodge 55-49 on Thursday.

Larned will play Medicine Lodge in the seventh place game starting at 3pm. Saturday.
