On the road Monday, the Lansing bowling teams each came up just shy of victory.
Playing at Mill Valley, both Lansing squads earned second-place finishes in the four-team competition.
The Lions boys finished with 2,339 points, short of Mill Valley’s 2,479, while the Lansing girls had a 1,867 total. Turner ended with a 2,074.
“Tough lane conditions challenged our kids throughout the meet to adjust with movement and ball changes,” Lansing coach Ed Fenton said. “We had our first look at Turner and Piper, two schools we'll face at regionals. I feel pretty good at the way we matched-up with those teams. I know we're capable of more so I'm looking forward to Wednesday night and a rematch with Turner.”
Leading bowlers for the boys included John Bredenhoeft and his 596-series score, good for fourth place; CJ Perez, a 586 series that gave him seventh and Bryan Courtney, who’s 584 tally put him in eighth.
For the Lady Lions, Dallas Castillo knocked down a 492 series total to win third individually. She was followed by Amber Ketchum’s 487 and a fourth place finish, plus Katelyn Tollefson’s 470 and seventh-place mark.
Lansing will compete at Turner Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
