A Basehor man was killed following a car accident Wednesday in southwest Leavenworth County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Thomas Dale Holland, 86, died after his 2002 Ford Ranger collided with another vehicle.
The accident was reported at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday about three miles north of the Leavenworth County and Douglas County line on U.S. 24-40.
Holland had been driving west when his vehicle crossed the center of the highway. The truck struck front driver’s side of an eastbound 2002 Dodge Caravan, according to the report.
Holland’s truck rolled onto it’s driver’s side in a ditch.
Holland had not been wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
The Dodge Caravan came to rest facing southwest in the eastbound lane. The minivan’s driver, Caitlyn A. Coon, 19, Basehor, was taken to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. She had been wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
