A man went to the hospital after he was stabbed in Leavenworth during an argument about money, a police spokesman said.
The incident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2500 block of South Fourth Street. A suspect has been identified and the case will be forwarded to a prosecutor for possible charges.
Lt. Chris Kear of the Leavenworth Police Department said the victim, a 23-year-old Lansing man, and the 35-year-old suspect reportedly were on the back porch of an acquaintance when the stabbing occurred. The victim was stabbed once in the back.
The suspect left the scene, and he was not located by police, according to Kear.
The lieutenant said police received a call from the house where the incident was reported to have occurred. But the victim already had left in a private vehicle to be taken to Saint John Hospital. He later was transferred to another hospital.
