Not many details have been released about a stabbing that was reported over the weekend in Leavenworth.
Police Chief Pat Kitchens said the victim, a 28-year-old Leavenworth man, has not cooperated with authorities. Police learned the man had been stabbed Saturday after he went to the hospital.
“It’s difficult to proceed much with the investigation,” Kitchens said.
A police report listed an address on North 20th Street as the location of the offense, but Kitchens did not confirm if this is where the stabbing is believed to have occurred.
The chief said police received information in connection to the case that may lead to the recovery of stolen handguns. Kitchens didn’t provide additional details about the stolen firearms.
“That case is ongoing,” he said.
